Wed, Sep 11
|Zoom Webinar
Oohhh! Nutrigenomics! Such a cool topic. We're going to be discussing the horse's whole genome, precision medicine, vitamin E deficiency, and so much more! Don't miss this very accomplished, note-worthy speaker in September 2024!

About the Event
The live event is FREE to all, but non-OCEN Members must pay a small fee to receive the recording. OCEN Community, Farm, and Veterinary Members receive free access to all guest lectures automatically- both live and recorded. All paid registrants and OCEN members will receive the recording within 48 hours of the live event. Live event participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and will receive a discount on consultations.
Take home points:
1. Nutrigenomics (aka personalized nutrition) = the relationship between nutrition and gene expression
2. Developing algorithms that integrated information on diet, phenotype and genotype can lead to larger gains in health than adhering to standard dietary guidelines
3. The genetics of vitamin E metabolism is one example in horses where certain horses may require higher levels of vitamin E than others
Dr. Carrie Finno's BIO
